MP criticises govt for delay in 4G rollout

Millions of people would already be enjoying the benefits of 4G”

Helen Goodman MP, shadow media and communication minister, has criticised the government for delaying the 4G auction by three years, resulting in a delay in rollout and in the Treasury receiving the money resulting from the auction, as well as for choosing only ten cities to get the new technology.

She said that if the government had held the auction in May 2010 as originally planned, “millions of people would already be enjoying the benefits of 4G“.

Meanwhile IT PRO reports that scientists are campaigning for the GBP 4 billion that is expected to be earned from the auction to be invested in “technologies vital to the UK’s future.”
