Bookmark Your Library, a new service which aims to offer a single online portal for public library services, is to be opened to UK librarians for review in preparation for a full public launch next year. The service will allow citizens to access public library services online, and will host FABLibraries, the UK public library national catalogues. In addition, citizens can access the Enquire digital reference service and speak to librarians online if they require help or support.
The new service will help users to look up events at their local library, sign up as a member and access information and services. OCLC, a non-profit, membership, computer library service and research organisation, developed Bookmark Your Library in conjunction with its stakeholders. These include the Society of Chief Librarians, Arts Council England, The Reading Agency, The Combined Regions, The Collections Trust and the RNIB.
