A tax calculator app released last year by HM Revenue and Customs has been re-launched with additional features and has already been downloaded by 250,000 people.
The app will allow users them to work out the how much tax they have to pay; access public spending information and enter their own tax code and get more information on tax rates.
According to treasury minister David Gauke, “Taxpayers have a right to know how their money is spent… The calculator is an excellent way to bring transparency into the tax system. With so many people downloading the app, we can see that there is a real appetite to know where taxpayers’ hard-earned money is spent.”
