A new service called StreetLink, which includes a hotline and a website, has been launched to enable citizens to help the homeless. It is run by Homeless Link and Broadway and is supported by the government.

Housing Minister Mark Prisk has encouraged people to call 0300 500 0914 or go to and help those who are sleeping rough, adding that “The New Year offers many of us an opportunity to make a new start – StreetLink offers that opportunity to those facing the prospect of living on our streets and a valuable alternative to simply a cash handout.”

Users can visit the website where they will be asked to enter as much detail about the location and appearance of the rough sleeper they want to help as they can. It also has the option of a rough sleepers looking for help to enter their details themselves.
