HMRC to buy iPads and MacBooks to increase encourage mobile working

In the past, govt depts including HMRC have depended on Microsoft

HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has decided to promote mobile working and will invest in a selection of iPads, MacBooks and other electronic devices.

HMRC will procure a range of devices across different brands in preparation for the Government’s updated rules of data security which will include a wider selection of vendors. In the past government departments including HMRC have depended heavily on Microsoft to provide electronic devices. This new approach to electronics comes as a part of the government’s new end-user device strategy.
