City of Edinburgh Council has launched a website and free app for iPhone and Android called Edinburgh Outdoors that gives citizens information about the city’s 141 parks as well as green areas, wild life and play areas.
Users can also take pictures and upload them to the website. The council received funding from Nesta’s ‘Make it Local Scotland’ programme.
According to the website, “This service aims to improve your experience visiting Edinburgh’s public parks. It is hoped that users will add their own comments and images so a greater range of information can be provided.”
