Govt child protection body launches app for child online safety

Offering meaningful support

The Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (Ceop), seeing a rise in online child abuse, has announced a new app in partnership with Microsoft, available for free via Windows store, which makes it possible for parents and children to report inappropriate contact made online as well as find out about online safety campaigns and watch educational videos.

According to Nicola Hodson, general manager of Microsoft UK, “This app will help parents keep talking with children about their online experiences and, if issues arise, offer meaningful support.”
