Martha Lane Fox, who has been the government’s digital champion since Gordon Brown was prime minister, is to sit in the House of Lords as a non-party-political peer, it has been announced.
Lane Fox has also co-founded lastminute.com, is chair of the charity Go On UK and often advises the Cabinet Office on digital developments.
She said on Twitter that she cannot “wait to make an impact in House of Lords”.
