EE partners-up with Go ON UK to help 1m Britons improve digital skills

“Digital exclusion is a massive social and economic issue”

Mobile network operator EE has become a founding partner of the Go ON UK charity, which works to make the country a digitally capable one, to help 1 million Britons improve their digital skills by 2015, according to its first corporate responsibility report.

To this end, it has trained 35 staff members to become Digital Champions, who will lead community-based learning sessions. It wants to train 300 such champions by the end of the year.

The report says that “digital exclusion is a massive social and economic issue that leaves people at risk of being left out of modern society.”

EE has also put up resources on its website advising visitors on internet safety and how to encourage family and friends to get online.
