The City of London Corporation has announced that it will award ICT and business services provider Agilisys a 5-year contract to deliver a managed cloud-based IT service that will see the organisation’s IT costs reduced by nearly 30% over the life of the contract.
The contract will be delivered from Agilisys’ East London centre of excellence, which also includes the company’s Elevate East London joint venture with Barking and Dagenham Council.
The contract, which will see approximately 30 staff TUPE transfer to Agilisys, includes a range of services, including voice and data networks, systems provision and support, disaster recovery and business analysis, with the option for additional transformational and developmental services in the future.
The partnership will also see the two organisations work together to create 100 digital apprenticeships for 16-18 year olds from the City and nearby fringe and priority boroughs, as well as support for local start up social enterprise organisations and SMEs. These programmes build on Agilisys’ successful Arch Apprentice programme which had its formal launch in Tower Hamlets, and the company’s experience developing and encouraging small business growth as managers of the Barking Enterprise Centre.
Graham Bell, Chief Information Officer, City of London Corporation said: “We have an ambitious IS Strategy, business change and service improvement programme, the Agilisys bid responded to this and was best placed to help the Corporation achieve these goals.
Agilisys CEO Steven Beard said, “We believe shared culture and values will ensure a successful partnership with the City of London Corporation, and look forward to working together to deliver excellent service for the council, and exceptional benefits for the local citizens.”
