Citizens Online’s Get IT Together scheme helps people learn how to use the internet. Learners are surveyed before and after training to capture data about their internet use. Some of these findings have recently been published and include:
- Learners are not motivated to access government services online before training, but 60% go on to do so as part of their regular Internet use.
- 60% of new learners encourage their families and friends to get online too.
- Access to internet enabled devices and broadband continue to be the main cause of digital exclusion.
Get IT Together is the digital inclusion programme managed by Citizens Online in partnership with BT, Highlands & Islands Enterprise, Wales Co-operative and other local partners. The programme is currently running a two year longitudinal study to measure the impact of digital skills training on participants.
