IT transformation partner Agilisys announced that following a competitive ‘mini-tender’ process, they have been selected by Wandsworth Council to deliver the Agilisys Digital platform, in a contract for an initial four years. The council used the London-wide single sign-on customer portal framework established last year to procure the product, shortening the process considerably.
The citizen self-service platform will be rolled out incrementally, beginning with council tax and benefits modules, and when implemented will provide local residents with easy online access to a range of vital services all in one place, and through the device of their choosing.
Customers will also benefit from insights provided by Agilisys Engage personalisation software. The software will allow a greater understanding of customers’ online journeys, leading to real-time improvements and personalised suggestions to visitors.
In addition to providing an improved experience for their customers, the council is expected to save approximately £200,000/year once the first modules are implemented, which will increase as additional services are added to the platform.
Councillor Guy Senior, Cabinet Member for Finance and Corporate Resources, Wandsworth Council said “Wandsworth has a good record of delivering self-service transactions. However these have been done in isolation, and only cover some of the more basic transactions. This new portal will allow customers to sign on once to the council’s website and then get a summary of all of their services on one screen – meeting our customers’ growing expectations to easily access our services online whenever they wish. Furthermore, by using an established framework, we have saved taxpayers’ money, meaning we can move to delivering the portal our customers expect and help protect frontline services.”
Nigel Muirhead, Agilisys Director of Products added, “We’re pleased to add Wandsworth Council to the growing number of customers whose residents will benefit from the seamless integrated access to services the Agilisys Digital platform provides. This is also further evidence of the importance of frameworks, as local authorities and other public bodies seek to minimise procurement costs, and we’re proud to be the first to have been selected from this framework.”
Agilisys has unveiled its Community Cloud solution to address the needs of public sector organisations on their journey to the cloud.
