Ealing saves over £300k with multi-year contract for integrated digital service delivery


Following Wandsworth’s recent decision to implement the Agilisys Digital platform, Ealing has become the second council in as many weeks to to select Agilisys via the pan-London, single sign-on customer portal framework (known as the ‘Wandsworth Framework’, established last year.

Use of the framework allows Ealing to reduce procurement time and costs, adding to the benefits to be achieved.  The multi-year contract for integrated digital service delivery is expected to generate an initial £300,000 savings, increasing over time.

Ealing Council has contracted with Agilisys for an initial three years with the option to extend for another two. Implementation of the ‘MyAccount’ portal within the platform means Ealing’s citizens will soon be able to access a range of critical services from a single, integrated online space.

The Agilisys Digital Platform, providing citizens with self-service capability will be rolled out incrementally, beginning with council tax, housing benefits, landlord services and street services, with the scope to add more services in later phases. This solution also provides an opportunity to replace some back office systems, which could result in additional savings / cost avoidance in the future.

The implementation will also include integration with Agilisys Engage personalisation software, which is currently being used by local authorities across the UK to anonymously profile more than 5m digital customer journeys each month. By increasing understanding of visitors’ needs as they use the website, and then serving up the most relevant content based on this knowledge, users of the Ealing Council website will enjoy an improved online experience – leading to increased use of this cost-effective channel.
