According to the GDS blog, citizens can book prison visits online in just five minutes, eliminating the need for paper forms and drawn-out phone calls. The tool will also allow users to pick from 3 available dates as opposed to just one. GDS has said that:
“It’s a straight-forward service with user-needs at its heart but, if you get stuck, you can call the prison’s visits booking line and someone will help you with the booking.”
“By making it easier to book visits, prisoners will see more of their friends and family. Evidence suggests this will help their rehabilitation. Transformation isn’t just about websites.”
They have also made a video about how the tool works, which can be viewed below.
