Hundreds of local authority IT professionals will gather at Socitm’s Annual Conference to hear the Government Digital Service’s Deputy Director spell out his views on digital transformation.
The two-day event, taking place at Old Trafford on 21st and 22nd October, will also feature speeches by Labour shadow minister Chi Onwurah and Digital Marketplace lead Tony Singleton.
Around 350 delegates and 40 exhibitors – including headline sponsor HP – are expected at the conference, which will examine how local authorities can establish a vision for digital public services and ensure this provides value for taxpayers.
Socitm President Nick Roberts is the first of over 30 speakers to take to the stage, which will also host the annual Socitm Awards Dinner, compered by acclaimed comedian Tom Binns and sponsored by IBM. Award categories include Digital Engagement, Innovation, Supplier and Socitm Member and the ceremony will also recognise graduates of this year’s Socitm/IBM ‘Top Talent’ leadership programme.
Adrian Hancock, Socitm Chief Executive, said: “Socitm’s Annual Conference is our flagship event and we are looking forward to welcoming public, third and private sector colleagues to Manchester for a stimulating combination of information-sharing, networking and, in the case of our Awards Dinner, great entertainment.”
The conference begins at 1pm on Tuesday 21st October and finishes at 4.30pm on Wednesday 22nd October.
