Because the government has made its services easier and faster through digital technology, GOV.UK has had 1 billion visits since October 2012. It is the 27th most accessed website in the UK, with 1.98 million average visits per day in October 2014 alone.

The voter registration system has moved online, replacing the form-based household system with individual registration.
