Brent Council opts for Agilisys’ innovative digital platform

Brent Borough Council has selected Agilisys to deliver its innovative digital platform, which allows ‘once and done’ citizen access to council services online. The council will work with its new partner to implement a number of modules available in the multi-channel platform, including mobile accessibility, ensuring 24/7 access to core services such as council tax and benefits.

Implementation of Agilisys Digital, with its MyAccount portal, will enable a significantly improved, seamless online experience for residents, whilst at the same time generating savings for the council.

Through use of ‘Single Sign On’, Agilisys will bring together the council’s existing investments in eForms and multiple digital services to create a single, joined up digital ecosystem within the customers’ MyAccount portal. Agilisys will also provide configurable end-to-end transactional modules within key high volume service areas such as council tax and benefits to deliver significant cost savings to the council.

The implementation will also include integration with the Agilisys Engage personalisation software, further improving the users’ online experience by increasing understanding of visitors’ needs as they use the website, and then serving up the most relevant content based on this knowledge.

Margaret Read, Operational Director Brent Customer Services, said: “This new portal will allow customers to sign on once to the council’s website and then get a summary of all services on one screen – meeting our customers’ growing expectations to easily access our services online whenever they wish. Furthermore, by using an established framework, we have saved taxpayers’ money, meaning we can move quickly to deliver the portal our customers expect and help protect frontline services.”

Tim Pitts, Agilisys Digital Partner, commented: “Like many local authorities, Brent Borough Council identified citizen self-service as a key enabler to improving their service to citizens while reducing the cost of doing so. We are delighted to work with them to support transformational service plans which focus on online transactions as the most cost effective channel for customer contact. Work has already started with a successful kick-off session involving senior stakeholders, ICT colleagues and third party digital service providers being very well received by all attendees.”

Nigel Muirhead, Agilisys Director of Products added: “We’re pleased to add Brent Council to the growing number of customers whose residents will benefit from the seamless integrated access to services the Agilisys Digital platform provides. The Agilisys Digital platform – enhanced by our innovative Engage personalisation software – is now delivering significant benefits for over half of all local authorities in London. In addition, Brent’s use of the Wandsworth pan-London framework further validates this as a valuable option for authorities who wish to implement citizen self-service portals in a cost-effective way.”
