Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council has launched a new email update service to give residents advice, news and information for the local area.
Over 400 people have signed up to the new email update service in under a week since it was launched.
Residents can subscribe to news and information about specific topics including bin collections, recycling, schools, jobs, weather, emergency alerts, housing, crime and local facilities such as recreational centres and libraries.
Subscribers will receive free updates to their email inbox as soon as the council publishes an article or update linked to their chosen subjects.
The leader of Sandwell Council, Darren Cooper said: “This is another great digital way people can keep in touch with the council.
“There are plenty of topics to choose from – you can select them all, or just the ones that interest you.
“We’ll be sending out updates on job vacancies, things to do at our parks, museums and libraries, anything affecting bin collections and lots more.
“Your email address will be kept confidential and we won’t bombard you with updates – just important or helpful information and news.”
