As the 2015 Digital Leaders 100 Awards winners were announced on Thursday 25th June, Mike Bracken, Executive Director of Digital in the Cabinet Office and Head of the Government Digital Service, was there to celebrate with 400 other digital pioneers from the public, private and non-profit sectors.
Mike and his team at the GDS were recognised at the DL100 for their contribution to the public sector digital transformation programme as they collected the award for Best Central Government Digital Transformation Team or Project. You can view the full DL100 list and all the category and over all winners on the official awards website.
We caught up with him on the sidelines of the proceedings to discuss the awards and their importance, the current landscape in the UK’s digital public sector and his hopes for future digital transformation.
“Having these events is really important and I’m so glad that my colleagues could be here today, and colleagues from all over the public sector. Only a few of them can win, but… all over the public sector there’s transformation going on,” he said.
