Transformation journey commences for City of Edinburgh Council

IT and business software and services provider Agilisys has signed a contract with independent information technology and business process services firm CGI to provide services as part of CGI’s contract with the City of Edinburgh Council.

Maggie Morrison, Business Development Director, Public Sector, Scotland at CGI said of the new contract: “We are delighted to be working with a partner of the calibre of Agilisys on this transformation programme. This is a really exciting time for all partners and a great opportunity for us to deliver lasting change together.”

All contracts now signed

Edinburgh council has chosen CGI to deliver a new transformational ICT contract over a period of seven years, with the potential that it will be extended to 19 years.

As all contracts have now been signed, Agilisys has now been confirmed as CGI’s partner for parts of the Council’s transformation programme.

Agilisys has already formed a team in the Scottish capital and started the first elements of the programme. The council’s online presence will now reportedly move to the Agilisys Digital platform, with the MyAccount Portal scheduled to go live in April next year.

The CGI contract with the City of Edinburgh Council will enable other Scottish local authorities, the Scottish government and health agencies to acquire similar services via the Edinburgh contract as a framework, in a bid to obtain “volume savings”.

A new base for Agilisys

Louise Ah Wong, Transformation Director at Agilisys, said: “Over the last year we have developed a strong relationship with CGI and the Council. Edinburgh is a great place to live and work, and it feels fantastic to be creating a new base for Agilisys and supporting the Council in further enhancing the lives of its citizens and its employees.”
