A new insight piece written by Agilisys suggests that now is the time to ask customers what they want, if public sector organisations really want to deliver effective services.

The post explains why Service Design – the activity of planning and organising people, infrastructure, communication and material components of a service to improve its quality and the interaction between the service provider and its customers – can really play a part in understanding the needs of citizens.

It goes on to explain how Service Design starts with the citizen and often needs to be created by reverse engineering the service’s view of the world.
