As new quality accreditation is released, Welsh software manufacturer Zipporah Ltd, becomes first UK-based IT business to receive recommendation for ISO 9001:2015.
The latest edition of ISO 9001, ISO’s flagship quality management systems standard, was published in September 2015, setting a new precedent for quality across business of all types and sizes.
Unsurprisingly, the latest update brought with it a flurry of activity as business of all types and sizes across the UK have looked to review their operations, in a bid to maintain the highest quality standards.
Among them was software specialist Zipporah who, following a swift response, found themselves on the receiving end of both a recommendation by the Centre for Assessment and a surprising title – the UK IT industry’s first business to do so.
The result, which will no doubt boost Cardiff’s reputation as a growing presence in the software development industry, was celebrated by Emma Powell, Zipporah’s Managing Director, as she discussed the importance of ISO to Zipporah’s success.
“Customer service is the key to any business. For us it is what sets our service apart and what we continually look to build on and improve each year. By obtaining recommendation for the latest ISO standard, Zipporah hopes to demonstrate its ongoing commitment to our customers as well as operational quality, hard work and growth”
Scott Burton, Co-Director added his thoughts.
“When we found out we were the first IT business in the UK to receive recommendation for the accreditation we were a little surprised of course. That said, we have a fantastic team at Zipporah, so we are always confident that we will stand out in some way, shape or form. This is another instance where we have been able to do that, so we’re really pleased.”
Zipporah, who enjoy the former ISO 9001: 2008 accreditation until their recommendation is formally recognised, saw the latest publication as a chance to qualify an ongoing focus for excellence and growth, highlighting the former standard as major factor behind their growing international success across Australia and New Zealand.
The ISO 9001:2015 accreditation which Zipporah have been recommended for by ISO Specialists, Centre for Assessment, was announced by the business in February and will add considerable weight to the ISO 27001 security standard the business received late 2015.
Already the business is looking forward to seeing its ISO standards boost operations once again, predicting further success in the UK and overseas.
“Australia and New Zealand are really exciting environments for us to be working in. There is a lot of potential in these markets and already we have seen just how receptive both countries are to Welsh innovation. We believe the latest ISO accreditation will give us a benchmark to further improve our operational success overseas, and will demonstrate to potential buyers that Wales offers some of best professional software services in the world. We’re hoping to formally announce that very soon”.
