Digital by Default: making it happen


It is already some months since the government’s Digital by Default Service Standard came into full effect this April, with the aim of making government digital services more effective and efficient, saving the tax payer an estimated £1.8 billion per annum.

However, recent research from iGov suggests that there is still some inertia to overcome: 50% of over 300 IT professionals from government organisations and non-departmental public bodies have yet to implement a digital by default strategy.
