Environment Agency launches a new online service in just 11 weeks

This case study showcases a new exemplar digital project, undertaken by CACI, the Environment Agency and Government Digital Services, to develop an online waste carrier registration service that allows any organisation regularly transporting waste to complete their registration in just 3 minutes. Built within 11 weeks, this service is hosted in the cloud and is expected to save up to an estimated £4million by 2018 when compared to a traditional solution.

Paul Wright, Project Executive, Environment Agency said: “CACI created an agile, dynamic and successful team working hand in hand with the Environment Agency and Government Digital Service. They brought a refreshing partnership approach, openness, flexibility, experience and most importantly a can do attitude that made our delivery a success. The success of this project is leading to the revaluation of how the Environment Agency will deliver digital services going forward and validates the agile approach.”
